Chasing Cars

That’s it, I have decided that these articles on love have got to stop… seems we mortals have nothing better to do than live our lives wishing we had that ‘melancholy music playing in the background’, (Anyone watch Grey’s anatomy? Remember the song by Snow patrol - chasing cars?)

We all seem to gravitate towards things that tug at our heart strings. I loved the movie  ‘Man under fire’ by Denzel Washington. My favourite part, (hold your breath)… was the part where the little girl is kidnapped in front of his eyes and we, (the audience) never see her again. That scene was heart breaking, painful and it sure pulled at those ‘heart strings’…

‘Heart strings’… what’s with us drama kings and queens? Did all the gods get together one day and decide that it would be fun if mankind was an emotional equivalent to circus clowns at a funeral?

… Maybe that’s why Shakespeare’s work is eternal; he potrayed humanity’s drama better than anyone else. The fact that his work stood the test of time is testimony of our approval.

First I must ask…what are you doing writing blogs at 2:30 AM?!  Even though I bet I could guess why you were awake.  (You are still a night owl indefinitely!)

Second.  Would you take a look at who is writing on your post!  The one and only.  That\’s right.  I finally got my act together and wrote a blog.  (Well a combination of that and that I had a story on my mind….).

Heart strings.  I couldn\’t agree with you more.  When watching movies, we love the feeling of the unknown.  It is somewhat exciting.  …What IS going to happen?!  Not only that, but we naturally want an ending.  The unknown drives people crazy!  (Even though the endings can drive people just as crazy).

Well, I don\’t have too much to say.  (You must remember, it feels as though I am new at this, due to my long absence!).  But I do hope that you are doing well Chris.  You have yet to mail me back….  So when you have time, I would love to hear from you.  Whether it be by email, facebook or via spaces.

Until I pop in again,  HAVE FUN!

wow so much against emotion?… it\’s the most powerful way for mankind to express how they feel…
emotion it\’s self has so much power it can detroy a whole community…
one question:  would you take racism as an emotion?

Hey. Found your blog through Jorge who has such good taste. Yes you are right. Many is the night Chasing Cars has been backdrop to my yanking of heart strings. Maybe these heart strings are what makes us human? Or maybe they are what shows us most clearly the gap between what we would like to be, and what we are, and what we cannot be, and that gives us all those Denzel Washington moments over and over again.

    Hey Chris!
I\’m missing your blog! I know that I was never that good at blogging, but I really enjoyed reading yours. Especially your musings on "love" that eternal struggle. Yes, we do spend far to much time pondering, yearning, and other words ending with \’ing\’ but hey, I don\’t know about you but I can\’t help it!!! Particularly since in my heart I think I\’m going to end up with the wrong person for me.

Gosh, that sounded rather depressing!!! Anyway, miss your chat, what\’s happening your side???
